Arrival of RFA Tidespring into A&P Falmouth

The Tide Class is a fleet of four fast fleet tankers that entered service with the British Royal Fleet Auxiliary from 2017. The Tide Class has been commissioned to provide fuel, water, food, ammunition and other supplies to Royal Navy vessels and task groups at sea including the QE Class Aircraft Carriers. In addition to maintaining the Royal Navy’s replenishment at sea capabilities, the tankers can also conduct humanitarian aid missions as well as providing assistance to NATO and collation allied forces.

The arrival of RFA Tidespring in April 2017 into UK waters was significant. She was the first of her class to complete the arrival voyage from South Korea and arrive in UK waters.

The Artemis team was tasked with coordinating a media event in partnership with the MoD to celebrate the arrival of RFA Tidespring to the UK.

The team coordinated print, broadcast and trade media relations ahead of Tidespring’s arrival and hosted a media event which included briefings from Gerald Pitts, Managing Director of A&P Group Defence and senior representatives from the MoD.

The media event generated significant media coverage celebrating her arrival.
